Meet The Team – James Moore
What do you do at Phyton Talent Advisors?
I’m a Senior Consultant in our UK office working on both permanent and contract hires. Although based in the UK, I also deal with the United States, Europe and Asia. I have a background in recruiting for IT and Financial Services professionals but I’m happy working on any role, in any industry.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I listen to a lot of music and podcasts during my working day. The music varies depending on my mood and the task in hand, it could be anything from classical or indie rock to Ugandan grindcore or Saudi metal! As for the podcasts, they’re mainly about fantasy sports (EPL/NFL), music, movies, comedy or food.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had, and what did you learn from it?
It wasn’t a full time job but I had a work placement with an IT consultancy and had to spend two days running cables in a frozen food warehouse in Hull. I decided then that IT perhaps wasn’t for me!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A footballer. The issue was that I was never that good!
Who inspires you?
No-one famous but I’m lucky enough to have some amazing friends and family who do some pretty inspirational stuff.
What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?
Run cables in a frozen food warehouse in Hull!
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Having had our first child this year, I’m both at the moment!
What are you passionate about?
Family, friends, Arsenal, Houston Texans, music, fantasy sports, craft beer.
What’s your favorite movie?
Apocalypse Now.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Pyschokinesis I guess? It would be extremely useful for this job.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?
Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta. It would be great to find out if all those years playing Championship Manager and playing fantasy EPL were worth it.
