Meet The Team – Cody Emond

What do you do at Phyton Talent Advisors?

I am an Executive Recruiter on the Accounting and Finance team for Phyton. I help our clients to identify the absolute best talent on the market for their needs. It is an extremely fulfilling career because I also get to help guide our candidates to their dream job to provide for their families.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Preparation. I am a firm believer in a quote from “The Art of War” which reads, “Every battle is won or lost before it is ever fought”. If I wake up in the morning unsure about what my goals of the day are, I’ve already lost that day in my mind.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had, and what did you learn from it?

The worst job I ever had was working at a Carnival. I challenge anyone to work a 12 hour shift on a merry go round in the heat of summer with 1000 screaming kids running around. However, I did gain some pretty awesome juggling skills from my time there.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Shortstop for the New York Yankees. Still keeping that option open.

Who inspires you?

Jocko Willink. Not familiar with him? Go look him up. He is a retired Lieutenant Commander and former Navy Seal who fought in the Battle of Ramadi in 2006 at the height of the Iraq War. I follow him on Instagram and he posts every single day at 4AM when he hits the gym.

What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?

I’ll never do a weight loss competition again. We have some very competitive people at Phyton.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Night Owl for sure. I’m the guy who snoozes my alarm 17 times before getting up.

What are you passionate about?

The New York Giants. My first child will be named Eli if it’s a boy or Ellie if it’s a girl.

What’s your favorite movie?

Goodfellas or anything with Rob De Niro and Joe Pesci.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?

Being able to read someone’s mind would be the ultimate Recruiting power.
